8.00 (good) THE anime that probably drew most of us into the genre. Ah, good old days when I used to be more girlish and carefree...The changing scenes did become boring after a while...

8.75 (very good) The usage of CG and traditional animation was nicely combined, plus the story and characters were done nicely, too.

Dogs: Bullets and Carnage

Last Updated: Apr 18, 2013

7.75 (good) The anime (well, OVAs technically) were kind of a letdown since they could've added so much more to the whole mix animation and music-wise (it was just so...not fit for the whole DOGS universe which needed more gritty and grungy stuff) but since the OVAs were basically an adaptation of the DOGS Introduction manga, I suppose we couldn't exactly expect much.

Manga is still a hundred times better. I'll stick to that.

9.25 (very good) One of the craziest and most interesting anime series I've ever seen. And I mean that in a good way. XD

9.00 (very good) Ergo Proxy is kind of like 'Matrix' - you have to see it a few times in order to understand it completely. And when you do, you realize how awesomely unique and deep it is.

8.75 (very good) Surprisingly good character development and story. The fanservice was there (for both regular and yaoi fangirls) but nothing over the top. A pretty enjoyable and fun series to pass the time.

Gintama

Last Updated: Aug 15, 2015

9.50 (excellent) Have been recommended this by a friend and admittedly, the first episode made me gawk at it in wonder and question the whole "It's so awesome, watch it!" comment I've been getting. I mean - aliens invading Edo? Wut? But then I gave it a shot and after a few more episodes, I was hooked. Gintama has an interesting blend of parody (which it uses to its max), humor and craziness, but also drama, suspense and enough feels and serious stuff to actually enjoy the premise of a samurai era in the show. Plus, Gintoki is awesome, Kagura even more so and Glasses...well, Glasses have Shinpachi. What's not to like~

Howl's Moving Castle

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Aug 15, 2015

9.75 (excellent) One of Miyazaki's best works with a heart warming story and animation. A pretty nice adaptation of the book (with some minor edits here and there) with beautiful scenes, characters and moral. And a ditzy, self-absorbed magician guy who goes around traveling in a moving, creaky castle, powered by a fire demon. Calcifer is awesomesauce. The dog is the king.

8.00 (good) Since the manga is pretty awesome, I'm curious how they're going to wrap this up in anime. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in hope they won't ruin it like all other series *coughKuroshitsujicough* since it would be such a shame. The animation and voice actors are good so far.

Kuroshitsuji

Seen: partially

Last Updated: Apr 18, 2013

7.25 (above average) The show had so much potential - nice animation, good music, good voice actors and then it all went downhill when they steered away from the original plot/story and created their own version. Why oh why do you do that, people? ;_;

I kinda dropped it after episode 9. Maybe I'll come back to it one day just to finish it and see how much they killed it. =_=

Lupin III

9.25 (very good) One of the funniest series about super thieves that always manage to escape the ever-incompetent detective.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Aug 15, 2015

9.25 (very good) The anime differs from manga somewhat but it's still a funny series with awesome characters and interesting mysteries. Manga is still better, of course because it offers a conclusion. Sort of. Mysteries aren't too mind-boggling and Neuro manages to stay his sadistic, awesome self till the end. It's also a real pleasure to watch Yako grow, as well as the partnership between the two of them, which ends with Neuro acknowledging her as his equal. Quite an upgrade from a louse and a dishrag lol. And Godai doesn't catch a break. Poor guy.

8.75 (very good) Since I'm loving the manga, I hope the anime will be just as well done. So far, it looks pretty decent so here's hoping they don't butcher the plot too much, lol.

Psychic Detective Yakumo

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Aug 15, 2011

7.50 (good) I must admit I expected more from anime, mostly scenes that were so nicely drawn in manga so I think it was a mistake to squeeze it all in just 13 episodes. Still, it was nice to see Yakumo animated.

PSYCHO-PASS

9.50 (excellent) Kougami~ <3

That aside, the show was actually one of the best shows of the season and one of the rare ones I actually deemed worth watching that had no pointless crotch/boob/panties shots. Interesting premise, reminiscent of '1984' and 'Minority Report' with interesting characters, awesome animation and a very good OST. The ending could've been less predictable and anticlimactic but overall, one of better ones I've seen in a while.

8.50 (very good) This was surprisingly nicely done. It only covered the first two volumes of manga so here's hoping for a new season. I also like the fact that the anime followed manga quite closely, differing only perhaps in the first few minutes of episode 1. Nike is still her nice, stubborn self while Livi was just the way I imagined him. The only thing that got a bit annoying after a while was the song Nike sang in the anime. While 'Tender Rain' is her trademark song, I'm sure it wasn't the only melody she ever sang in the manga. Some variation in that department would've been welcome.

Last Updated: Jun 30, 2013

9.75 (excellent) Wonderful animation, interesting characters and a plot that digs a bit deeper than just scratching the surface of the mecha and sci-fi genre. It actually makes you face the value and worth of humanity, think about what makes us humans and what it takes to learn how to live in a world so void of anything you've been used to without coming off as pretentious, preaching and mind boggling.

Truly a refreshing series of this anime season and worth the watch. Recommended if you like something more than just action fights, giant robots and fanservice.

Tokyo Ghoul

Last Updated: Oct 27, 2014

7.50 (good) As many had already stated, this could've been done so much better to give the manga some justice. The start was okay and then after a few episodes, it all kind of started going too fast which is no wonder since they tried to squeeze 60+ chapters of manga into 12 episodes of anime and a lot of things were skipped and thrown out. And the inverted colors as censorship and other ways of censoring things were off-putting as well. They chose to do a seinen manga, gore and mature themes should have been done accordingly. The soundtrack and voice acting was okay, though and the animation wasn't that bad either so that's the plus of the anime. I still think the manga is better and I think I'll stick to that, despite the announced Season 2 of anime.

7.5 on my part.
